Intellectual Property Rights

The main idea in the article is to try and find a closer balance on importance of intellectual rights and human rights. Most people see human rights in a higher level of importance versus that of the intellectual right but when you break them both down they seem very close...almost like intellectual rights falls into the human rights slot. Not having better intellectual rights is robbing us of better equiptment and a better understanding of humanity, the human body and all other things that could be further researched if there were greater protection for intellectual rights. There is a search for sub-criteria to better explain what steps need to be taken to inforce better laws and regulations for intellectual rights.

In my opinion it is a good idea. More people would be willing to focus and work on one specific area of interest (example: Cancer Research) if they knew their hard work and dedication would be recognized and would not be corrupted by someone else. Thus, making the advance in all kinds of medical research and other types of research much more logical and focused. In turn it may also help increase understanding for other types of rights people have that are not being protected to their fullest and need to be re-evaluated just like intellectual rights.

other articles on intellectual rights:

this article was written in reference to how spreading clean energy information to other countries. It sounds good except for the fact that it could put a dent in intellectual rights for researchers who work heavily at this clean energy information. Obama and administration are working for a way to distribute information with out discouraging and endangering the intellectual rights of those parties involved on the educating side. The issues are being talked through in the draft of potential climate agreement.

I believe it is sooo important for more information to be out there for people to help out our environment. The environment is a vital part of our lives whether people want to acknowlegde we all play a part in its destruction or not. I would like to see where this idea can go while helping both sides of this issue. I wouldnt want to discourage or veer people from working on more options for a cleaner energy source because we never know what we might find. Hopefully we can find a way to get there, without stepping on anyones toes!
